Advancing climate research into action.

THE APPROACH

Bridging the gap between climate science and real-world implementation through coordinated collaboration across stakeholder groups.

ABOUT

Dr. Bali Lee specialises in stakeholder alignment, research design & development, and the adoption of climate solutions.

Passionate about fostering collaboration between people from different backgrounds and systems, she excels at bringing together unlikely collaborators to tackle complex climate challenges.

Her recent work includes co-ordinating expansion of the Carbon at Risk framework, which emerged from her work managing the Doers Club at Rethinking Removals, and directing climate adaptation research at Gulre. Previously, Bali co-founded a VC-backed mental health startup, where she learned to catalyse emerging markets by securing stakeholder buy-in across diverse groups whilst managing complex scientific model development. With a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester, she now channels these entrepreneurial skills towards the climate emergency.

Services

  • Stakeholder Facilitation

Designing and facilitating structured processes that align diverse organisations around specific climate challenges.

Includes stakeholder mapping, designing engagement strategies, facilitating working groups, and establishing measurable outcomes for collaborative initiatives

  • Framework Development

Co-creating practical frameworks and decision-making tools for climate-related challenges.

This involves analysing underlying issues, developing standardised tools, creating practical implementation guides, and establishing feedback mechanisms to enable continuous improvement

  • Implementation Support

Developing targeted strategies to drive uptake of climate solutions in key sectors.

Includes identifying early adopter segments, creating compelling value propositions, designing pilot programs, and developing communication approaches that resonate with target audiences

  • Research Projects

Securing funding for and conducting climate research that generates evidence-based solutions for real-world challenges.

This involves identifying knowledge gaps, coordinating diverse research communities, designing robust methodologies, and establishing dissemination strategies to ensure research findings translate into practical outcomes

Projects

Carbon at Risk

Coordinating a multi-sector coalition to design a standardised, quantitative risk assessment framework for diverse carbon removal pathways, bringing together insurers, standard setters, registries, marketplaces, financial institutions and academia to better understand and mitigate risks as we build out our global carbon removal portfolio.

Glacier Marriage

Leading a multidisciplinary team to scientifically investigate an indigenous water conservation practice in remote high-mountain regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. With only two surviving practitioners, this project aims to document and validate their traditional knowledge while recognising the community as experts in what could be a vital climate solution.
